Great essay on why technology shouldn't be magic.

As an IT professional, I encounter the wonder, confusion and awe that people have for my skills. It is entirely misplaced, but the modern tech wiz is considered by many to be some kind of sorcerer. It is disturbing, as most of the time we are just conjurers of cheap tricks.
